Screw TESA 5.0

Art. no. 3.7302.30

The TESA screw has been developed for transfixation, suspension and compression of the biceps tendon in the bicipital groove. The 30 mm
long screw achieves good tilting stability in the cancellous bone.

Function of the TESA screw

The TESA screw has a total length of 30 mm and consists of a conical pin point, a threaded body, a thread-free neck and a flat, wide head. The TESA screw has been developed for transfixation, suspension and compression of the biceps tendon in the bicipital groove. The 30 mm long screw achieves good tilting stability in the cancellous bone. The pinpoint makes it easier to thread the biceps tendon and to locate the drill hole in the
cortical bone. The threaded rod secures the screw in the cancellous bone. The thread-free neck preserves the perforated biceps tendon and allows the suspension threads to be applied. The flat head compresses and secures the biceps tendon against the bottom of the bicipital groove.

The design allows the biceps tendon to be anchored in the bicipital groove without opening the transverse ligament and the biceps tendon sheath. This achieves a high tear-out strength and optimises healing with downward sealing of the bicipital groove. In suitable cases, the TESA screw is also used as an anchor screw for sutures to refix the rotator cuff in the anterior section.

Advantages
  • Titanium screw = best possible anchorage in the bone
  • Stable fixation of the biceps tendon with high tear-out strength
  • Low implant costs – cost effective
Fractures
  • Pinpoint to suspend and secure the biceps tendon
  • Threaded rod to anchor in the cortical bone
  • The thread-free screw neck protects the perforated biceps tendon
  • The flat head compresses and secures the biceps tendon against the floor of the bicipital groove.
