TIMENEWS.co.id – The Indonesian Orthopaedic Surgeons Association (PABOI), in cooperation with the Indonesian Orthopaedic Foundation (YOI), conducted a highly impactful Community Service event from May 3–5, 2025, in Sumenep Regency, Madura. This initiative formed an integral part of the 73rd Continuing Orthopaedic Education (COE) program, aimed at enhancing orthopaedic care and outreach across Eastern Indonesia.

The opening ceremony was attended by the General Chairperson of PABOI, the Chairperson of YOI, and the Regent of Sumenep. Each of them expressed deep appreciation for the role of orthopaedic and traumatology professionals in strengthening regional healthcare capacity and underlined the importance of collaborative efforts between the medical community, the government, and local stakeholders.

Prof. Dr. dr. Ismail Hadisoebroto Dilogo, SpOT(K), General Chairperson of the Indonesian Orthopaedic Association (IOA), highlighted the social responsibility behind this mission:

“This program is a reflection of our commitment to closing the gap in orthopaedic service access. We aim to empower local healthcare providers and ensure that patients in Sumenep and surrounding areas receive the support they need,” he stated.

  1. Lia Marliana, SpOT(K), MKes, Chairperson of YOI, also emphasized the unwavering dedication of orthopaedic specialists across the nation in improving both health service quality and academic expertise in the field.

A total of five focused programs were offered to engage both health professionals and the general public, including an Orthopaedic and Traumatology Lay Seminar, with contributions from both central and local medical teams.

This meaningful event was strongly supported by RSUD dr. H. Moh. Anwar Sumenep, which served as a host and logistical partner—providing facilities, medical staff, and operational support essential to the program’s success.

Königsee Implants: A Trusted Partner in Orthopaedic Excellence

A key highlight of this community service program was the presence and active participation of many Indonesian orthopaedic surgeons who have worked for years with Königsee Implants, a renowned German manufacturer of high-quality trauma and orthopaedic solutions. The implants are distributed in Indonesia exclusively through Mediali Sinergi, Königsee’s official local representative.

The partnership between Königsee Implants and Indonesian orthopaedic professionals was proudly on display, with the surgeons donning distinctive green Königsee T-shirts—a visual symbol of their long-standing collaboration and trust in Königsee systems.

This event not only underlines the importance of equitable access to orthopaedic services but also showcases the strong relationship between global medical innovation and local expertise. Königsee Implants remains committed to supporting education, improving patient outcomes, and working closely with the Indonesian orthopaedic community through Mediali Sinergi.
