Attractive framework conditions

Because the health of our employees is a central issue we have initiated safety precautions within the company which function as protection for the employees and concomitantly seek to prevent any kind of accidents during production. In order for the employees to relax in break times the buildings surroundings have been equipped with a small pond. Besides that we practice a family-friendly work-time policy with flexible working hours. Company events as f. e. the yearly Christmas party or the participation in the company-run in Erfurt are fixed meeting-points for team-building.


Our company organisation includes development, manufacturing, sales, quality management, education and general management where the general coordination takes place. Currently there are working approx. 150 employees vigorously for improvement in every regard. Even without a stated women proportion almost half of the people working at Königsee Implantate are female.

Research und Development

Research and development department is our innovation motor: all new and updated products are created in the heads of our engineers in cooperation with surgeons and our sales reps. The colleagues from construction department and prototyping belong to the R&D-department. Products are constructed and modified, approval processes coordinated and new technologies developed as well as development projects coordinated with partners and universities.

Development projects include the complete value added chain – from the idea across the development of a prototype as far as the manufacturing of the serial product. The engineers closely work together with doctors and surgeons to develop new implants, instruments and custom-made products. This close cooperation with the users enables for a permanent adjustment and updating of our product portfolio strictly oriented at the specific user needs and the patient’s health.

The time manufacturing a prototype during the general production process can be reduced. Development department now has a 3D-Printer at its disposal. We offer free capacities of the ZPrinter ® 350 to regional companies.


The manufacturing includes procurement and production planning, turning shop, grinding shop and electroplating until final control and storage. In production department the design-ideas of our engineers and the doctors go into series. for an exact manufacturing of the implants a special computer programm makes the construction drawings readable for the Hermle CNC-turning- and milling machines. This way f.e. threads are turned into screws and plates. Furthermore surfaces are processed, implants are cleaned and galvanized, sizes and characteristics are controlled and at last all products are packed. Complete Sets are compiled, stored and later sent to all sorts of destinations in the world. For the manufacturing processes of our products it is important to put modern technique into operation under reliable and secure working conditions.

Our high standards towards ourselves give us enough reason to constantly work on product- and manufacturing improvements. In front of this background we developed and also patented together with the University of Jena and the technology-group INNOVENT Jena e.V. 2009 a special surface treatment procedure (TiOB®) for titanium implants. Together with the enlargement of the processes in surface treatment a new surface treatment centre with the most recent technical equipment as well as room for packaging and labelling under clean-room-conditions was created.


The sales department is our Service-Center: unrestricted customer satisfaction is regarded most important at Königsee Implantate. Our service includes competent advice by internal as well as external sales reps. In all of Germany and even abroad our sales reps are working to offer comprehensive customer service to the users. They introduce new products to hospitals and practices in order to clear questions and get direct feedback regarding our products. In regular user-meetings and workshops we offer the possibility to test implants and instruments under professional supervision.

The colleagues in internal sales department answer all questions as long as they are in their area of reponsibility and take orders and returns. Additionally to the usual ordering-process it is also possible to place custom-made orders. Urgent orders can be dispatched with express or over-night express. Upon your request we individually put together all necessary information material.

The Export-Team takes care of the international congress representation f.e. in Russia, Columbia, China, Poland and further countries. Information about the next congresses with a participation of Königsee Implantate can be viewed under the headline "Events".

The Königsee Implantate International Workshops provide for our international partners the possibility to get to know and test the most recent surgical techniques under the supervision of experts.


Pre-requisite for a long life-span and secure use of our products is flawless quality. Especially in the medical technology industry preventive measurements have to be taken up in order to minimize the potential for errors.

The department for quality management makes sure that the production process is smooth and that the consistent high level of our implants and instruments can be maintained or even increased. All procurements are checked and measurements controlled in order to fulfil the high standards. A product approval makes sure that only the correctly manufactured implants are produced in high numbers. End-control is the last instance to ensure quality security.

Also other processes such as risk management correspond to established national as well as international standards. Sustainability is at utmost importance for us. Therefore: sustainable environmental management is integral part of the Königsee quality management. Königsee Implantate is certified according to DIN EN ISO 13485 and medical products directive 93/42 EEC 13485.


Our economic future is based on a high level of education for the coming generations. This is the reason why we invest in education in the area of manufacturing and sales. Furthermore regular vocational training in groups or individually secures and develops know-how. It is the basis for long-term success of the whole company.

With a modern training center which was opened in 2010 we seek to offer a job-perspective to young people with interests in a technical profession. Our training center is provided with the most recent equipment for drilling, milling, turning and grinding in order to generate highly qualified mechanics. An experienced training-team accompanies overall 10 apprentices. 3 of them are from other companies on their way to a profession. in the sales area we currently have 2 apprentices.

Already in early years we support the future for our economy. In the course of a cooperation initiative called KURS 21 Thuringia, pupils from Regelschule Bad Blankenburg get the possibility to have a peek into a potential work environment. At the school in Königsee Königsee-colloeagues organize an extra-curricular activity for the pupils where they can work with metal.
